The work

We advised a family foundation in New York on a pilot project that brings cutting-edge technology and high-quality teacher training to improve early childhood education in rural China.

Our implementing partner is the Shenzhen Charity Federation.

• About 100 kindergartens and preschool education centres have improved access to teacher training and digital tools in their child development programmes.
• Project sites now have a mechanism for collaboration among health, education, and welfare sectors, and with local government, so the model can be expanded.
• Our partners convened decision-makers and planners from the Ministry of Education and related ministries to share the pilot results and inform national policy.

Joywave Fund

We supported a family client in giving back to society by setting up a dedicated charitable fund to help children in China with hearing disabilities.

• RMB 50M+ distributed: established the Joywave Fund for the donor family and distributed over RMB 50 million to grantees across China.
• National reach: worked with hospitals nationwide to provide medical assistance to children with hearing disabilities.
• Celebrity ambassadors: leading Chinese figures including Mrs Mei Ting and Mr Chen Daoming were appointed as ambassadors to amplify the fund's impact.

The work

We supported the largest pharmaceutical family firm in Asia in designing and delivering a capacity-building training programme for its key charity partners in China, following Takeda's $60 billion acquisition of Shire.

The programme strengthened the family firm's relationship with the local community in China and built its charity partners' capacity in resource mobilisation, creating sustainable community impact.

China Women's Development Foundation

We partnered with the China Women's Development Foundation to design and implement its charitable trust programme, and have since advised on its ongoing development and governance.

Creation TV

We supported the studio expansion of Creation TV, the largest faith-based nonprofit television channel and media corporation in Hong Kong.

Alibaba

We customised and delivered a Business and Purpose workshop for Alibaba Group Holding's investment team, covering key trends in global philanthropy and opportunities in impact investment.

NetEase

We partnered with NetEase, China's third-largest technology company, to offer global education online solutions.

We also designed and delivered training for the Indonesian Ministry of Education on best practices and technological solutions for online education during COVID-19.

Microfinance for rural villagers

We worked with a group of families across multiple jurisdictions who co-funded a USD 8 million microfinance project in Asia to support rural villagers and extend financial access to underserved communities.

China Construction Bank (Shenzhen)

We customised and delivered philanthropy planning training for China Construction Bank's UHNW private banking division in Shenzhen.

The programme equipped private bankers with the knowledge and skills to lead client conversations around philanthropy, strengthening relationships with UHNW clients.

Bank of Communications

We hosted the leadership team of Bank of Communications' private banking division for a study tour visiting family offices in Singapore.

China Global Philanthropy Institute

The China Global Philanthropy Institute was founded by Bill Gates, Ray Dalio, and leading Chinese philanthropists in 2015 to advance philanthropy education in China.

Alliance for Good has provided curriculum design, course delivery, and an overseas study trip for CGPI's Executive Master in Philanthropy programme.

China Charity Tax Operational Guidelines

Alliance for Good partnered with the Central University of Finance and Economics to publish the China Charity Tax Operational Guidelines — the first and most comprehensive guidebook on philanthropy taxation in China.

The book was launched at the Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing.
